Custom web development.
The code behind a website should make the business easier to understand and work with. Singular Structure builds websites for UK and international businesses, backed by nearly a decade of professional software development experience.
Explore a web applicationGive every feature a job.
A useful specification starts with the tasks people need to complete. That might mean finding a service, sending an enquiry, comparing information or accessing an account. Each task needs a clear route through the website.
Custom development means those decisions can follow the business. Before adding a feature, it is worth asking what information it needs, who can use it and what happens when something goes wrong. That makes the scope easier to discuss and the finished behaviour easier to assess.
Use a suitable foundation.
For projects handling accounts or business data, I build with Django, an established framework for websites and business systems. It provides a structured foundation for features such as sign-ins, permissions, forms and database-backed information.
You do not need to choose a framework before getting in touch. The conversation starts with what the website needs to do. A straightforward presentation site and an application with private customer information have different requirements; the technical decisions should reflect those differences.
Treat the data carefully.
Security decisions belong in the build from the beginning. A form needs to check submitted information on the server. Private information needs appropriate access controls. Public endpoints need protection against automated misuse.
The enquiry form on this website is one example: submissions are validated, checked for bot activity and rate limited before an enquiry is stored. These controls work together. They support careful handling of enquiries without expecting a visitor to understand the technology behind them.
The same principle guides a new project: collect what is needed, decide who should have access and consider how the information will be used.
Make the details work together.
The browser interface and the server need to agree. A success message should mean that an action succeeded. A failed request should give someone a useful next step, without losing the information they have just entered.
Bespoke design and development are considered together, including mobile layouts, keyboard use, loading behaviour and the small interactions that make a website comfortable to use. The Fuel Finder showcase demonstrates an application built around finding and comparing information.
A clear starting point.
The complete website package is £10,000 including VAT, covering website design, the build and the first 12 months of hosting.
From year two, hosting is paid by you, separately from the design and build price. Bring the features you have in mind to the first conversation so the work can be discussed clearly. View the website pricing.
